Sony has unveiled the cover for Whitney Houston’s new album, “I Look To You.”
And last night in London, Clive Davis played nine tracks from the album, due to be released Sept. 1 in the U.S.
The tracks played were “Million Dollar Bill,” “Nuthin’ But Love,” “Call You Tonight” (which Davis said was a likely lead single), “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength,” “Like I Never Left,” “For the Lovers,” “I Look to You,” “Worth It” and a cover of Leon Russell’s “A Song for You.”

Not sure what I was expecting… Or hoping for. I guess I was kind of looking for her to come back as the diva who’s already been through it. Looking a little rough, but on purpose. The all white and the bright photo-shopping kind of harkens back to a time when we didn’t “know” her. Like, I’m not really buying the look. But I’m probably in the minority here. Maybe people want to forget “Being Bobby Brown’s dookie Bubble” or whatever the show was called… And just pretend like all that never happened. I would love to see her in a smoky dark room, hair in her face, looking like Billie Holiday after a long night. But that’s just me…

I like the look of the cover. Even though we know she has been through the fire, she doesn’t have to look like it or even smell like smoke.
The best recovery is a complete one. So I hope what we see is what we get. ( Fresh, aware, and a come back kid~resilent)
