Wearing A Great “Nerds 2(squared) Ever” Shirt, 10-Year-Old Will Phillips Explains Why He Stood Up For Gay Rights

Mon, Nov 16, 2009 by AKA William

will-phillipsMore proof that geeks rule.

Last week I mentioned that 10-year-old Will Phillips of Arkansas refused to say the “Pledge of Allegiance” in class until gays were given equal rights. Over the weekend Phillips, who wore that fantastic shirt, explained that being called “gay-wad” prompted him to take a stand.

I gotta say, this 10-year-old is remarkably well spoken, saying, “I think [gay people] should have the rights all people should. And I’m not going to swear that they do.”

Watch.
