Senator Ted Kennedy was long a supporter of LGBT rights. In 2008, he gave an impassioned — and kind of sassy — speech at the HRC’s Equality Convention.
In the speech, Kennedy spoke movingly about the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Act, ENDA, DADT, the need to include LGBT Americans into the fabric of our country, and the importance of fighting for all of our civil rights.
It really is inspiring. Watch it.
