The U.S. Attorney General’s office will conduct an independent probe of the June 27 joint raid on the Rainbow Lounge.

Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief had already asked the federal agency to review the police department’s findings, but now the mayor and City Council members have endorsed the independent investigation.

Also, the discipline files of five officers connected to the raid have been released, and all but one have clean records. Officer Jason Ricks, who was assigned to stay with the van during the Rainbow Lounge rais was suspended in 2006 over an off-duty fight.

Fort Worth is set to release the files of the supervisor and one other officer involved in the raid.
