The first show of the final season of BSG airs this Friday, Jan. 16. This was my favorite show. It was the smartest science fiction show I’d ever seen. I was out at a bar with friends a few months ago, when the Democratic primaries were in hyperspeed, and I got to talking to a friend of a friend about BSG. I was a little afraid to say it out loud, but I was drunk, so I said, “Hey, you know what? I think understand Hillary Clinton better because of President Roslin.” He leaned back away from me, and I never felt more like a geek than I did at that moment. I started to mumble some excuses about what I really meant, but he leaned back in to me, closer, and whispered, “I am so glad you said that. I’ve been thinking the same thing every day! But I didn’t want to say it out loud . . . . ” Yeah, BSG was that good. It went off the rails a bit last season, but I’m hoping that the final half-season will bring it all back home. Watch above.
