The Gay Stereotype Or The Sexist Ones – Your Favorite Super Bowl Commercial?

Remember that incredibly sexist Dockers ad from December? The one that lists reasons why it’s time to start being a man again? And that this can be done only when men start wearing the pants in the family again? The one that was millimeters away from being homophobic? Well, during yesterday’s Super Bowl, the theme behind that ad (the emasculation of the American man) was turned a Dockers commercial, “No Pants.”

It’s silly and funny and shows men walking in a field with no pants, chanting, “I wear no pants!” with a voiceover at the end saying, “Calling all men — it’s time to wear the pants.” Only this isn’t silly or funny. It’s grossly sexist.

As is “Man’s Last Stand,” where a Dodge Charger is the absolute final stand for a man in world where his balls have been cut off by a shrewish wife.

And then there’s the Megan Fox Motorola commercial featuring two incredibly effeminate men effeminately slapping each other. All they needed was to each have a teacup poodle in arm while saying, “Bitch!” to complete the picture.

Gross. Watch both.

This, apparently, is the new trend, in politics and entertainment (and as the case with the Tebow anti-choice ads, both simultaneously) — make it funny, make it silly, and make it straight out of the 1950s.

    yeah, I guess I was just thinking that the gays could have been less stereotypical. Probably would have been funnier, too!
