And now it’s not even crazy anymore.
Peter LaBarbera, president of AFTAH and definer of “power-bottom,” held an anti-gay press conference in Maine yesterday to try to convince someone about supporters of marriage equality were part of the radicalized homosexual agenda.
Thing is, the “press conference” was very sparsely attended. Worse for LaBarbera, marriage equality supporters outnumbered the bigots 15-9!
Worse/better than that? Maine’s anti-LGBT group “Stand for Marriage” issued a statement to distance itself from LaBarbera’s craziness, saying, “We disavow anything said today as being in any way connected to the Stand for Marriage Maine campaign. Whatever was said today was simply the words of the people speaking at the press conference.”
So, what did LaBarbera say to turn bigot against bigot? In part, this: “The elephant in the room is homosexuality. It’s not really being discussed much in this campaign.”
Yeah. It’s not being discussed at all.
