Last night, CNN covered Obama’s HRC LGBT address. And Michelangelo Signorile, Dan Savage, Lt. Dan Choi, Hilary Rosen, and CNN’s Don Lemon debated what Obama did and did not say during his LGBT address last night.
And their heated debate represents, rather neatly, the issues being hashed out by the LGBT population internally as much externally. Signorile offers terrific measured arguments and explanations of how and why Obama can be doing more.
And, another hat tip to Signorile for pointing out the disparity between the HRC dinner attendees, and, well, the rest of us.
Definitely worth watching.

I think the lgbt protest outside was far more important than the speech and the dinner.
Hillary Rosen is selling out the lgbt community as usual. She is notorious for giving money to ultra homophobic Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch.

What I find very interesting in Part 2 is that Hilary openly says that gay military advocates advised Obama not to issue a stop gap on DADT. And NO ONE challenged her on that. I find that stunning. What’s the deal with that? And has gay press picked that up? Dan Savage who was debating with her at the time did not refute her. What’s up with that? Did Hilary spill the beans?

@ Derrick,
I’m so glad you brought this up. The same thing occurred to me as I sat listening to it, but, since it was the day of the March, I didn’t have time to do the research to confirm that I heard what I thought I had heard. Thank you for bringing it back up. I’ll be posting about it later today.
Rosen’s words speak directly to the information given by Jason Bellini and denied by Solmonese. http://www.akawilliam.com/hrc-says-dadt-claims-a-lie-but-signorile-source-backs-them-up/
