She never once used her power to force her morality on any minority. She was caring of each individual Alaska citizen and made sure not to step on their personal right. If we have to have republicans then I want more like Sarah Palin. She has been unfairly criticized. She has actually taken then cronyism out of everyday politics and ran a state in a fair and honest manor. We Alaskans have experienced much worse in Democratic leadership. I don't agree with some of the issues she stands for but no matter what I knew that she was fair and trustworthy. She herself is in a minority and knows how hard it is to make a stand on what you believe and even though she believes in the DOMA she knows the hardships we as gay constituents go through and has voiced that several speeches. She has never once made a promise that she did not go through with, unlike the very president I voted for that has now turned his back on us in a humiliating way. I believe one day the republican party will be our greatest ally, we just need to break them in nice and slow and show them its about discrimination first and old traditions second. My heart goes out to the way she has been treated and I do hope that in the future we (the gay community) can rally in a civilized way treating everyone the same way we want to be treated.
