Today, I got race and racism on my mind. The Sotomayor confirmation hearing has stoked nearly as much discussion about race and racism in America as Obama’s presidential run. And in Sotomayor’s case, the discussion has taken a decidedly ugly turn.
Pat Buchanan has been on a campaign of racism the past week, and last night on The Rachel Maddow Show, Rachel got as aggressive and heated as I have ever seen her as she pointed out, pointedly, the violence that Buchanan is stoking with his discussion of the white man as the victim of racism.
Rachel really does lay into him, outright calling him “dated” and from “the 1950s.”
This is a must watch.
