Yesterday, Obama signed an executive order that bans federal employees from texting while on government business, driving government vehicles or using government equipment.. Probably a great idea.
You might recall that, back in May, The Palm Center concluded that Obama could issue an executive order that would effectively end DADT. Obama has stated that he is reluctant to use an executive order to go around the legislative process.
See where this is headed? So did a friend of blogger Via Michael Petrelis. The friend wrote:
Can you pass this along? He can fucking sign a ban on texting by executive order but he can’t stop the firings of hundreds gay and lesbian servicemembers? What the fuck?
The friend has a point.
I know that Obama has a whole hell of a lot on his plate right now. But between the pressure he’s getting from pretty much everywhere to end DADT, why won’t he just sign in and get it off his plate?
