It just seems to me a better wording (the NYT did it too) would be that they focus is on forcing the state government to stop recognizing same sex unions of any kind. If the Alliance Defense Fund [ptew] wins these cases it'll be a punch in the gut to the foothold we already have in New York.eh I'm being picky. I still love you.
