“Family Guy” is the first animated series to be nominated for a Best Comedy Series Emmy in fifty years. Its competition? “Entourage,” “The Office,” “30 Rock,” “Weeds,” “How I Met Your Mother” and “Flight of the Conchords.”
As part of its campaign to get the Emmy, “Family Guy” is doing a series of mock ads attacking its competition. First up, “The Office.”
Here’s the thing — I got just a little creeped out that the newly-out Stewie was bashing the hell out Brian, who proclaimed his love of “The Office.” Stewie beat and tortured the little cartoon dog to get him to vote against “The Office.”
I don’t watch “Family Guy,” so maybe I’m missing something, and Seth McFarlane has seemed pretty gay-friendly, but this isn’t the first time that the show has me me gay-uncomfortable.
Watch it.

Um, William,
Stewie has always, from day one, been a vicious, violent, baby, that’s the whole point of stewie and why we fans of the show love him so much….’cause he’s just a baby! an nazi-like baby but a baby nonetheless. He even killed his mom in one episode, so this isn’t anything new or to do with him being gay or any of the sort; in fact, it will feel wrong for Seth to now start making Stewie more of a pacifist just because he outed him and is afraid to upset anyone, that’ll be compromising the character.

Oh, well, when you put it like that . . . .
