Today, Thursday, February 12, 2009 is National Freedom to Marry Day. At local marriage counters in cities all over the country, same-sex couples will request marriage licenses from their local County Clerkâs Offices to raise awareness for gay marriage equality.
This annual national event is hosted by Marriage Equality USA (MEUSA) and this year they are partnering with Join the Impact to make this their largest Marriage Counter Action yet.

Attend the CA State Capitol Rally – Feb 16th
On Presidents Day Monday, February 16th from noon to 3pm people from all over the state will join MEUSA on the steps of the Capitol to show solidarity for the rights of the 18,000 same-sex couples who were married.
Join the Equality California Lobby Day (Feb 17th)
On Tuesday, February 17, register and join activists from across the state for a legislative lobby day at the California State Capitol.
