In a ceremony sure to make James Franco just a little bit jealous, a Korean man has fallen in love with his pillow. And he decided to take that love one step further — he married it.
In something of a cross between Lars And The Real Girl and that NYT story documenting the manga and anime hyperfans who end up falling in love with inanimate objects, Lee Jin-gyu fell hard for Fate Testarossa, his “dakimakura” – the body sized Japanese pillows with anime characters printed on them. (Testarossa is the “magical girl” from the anime series “Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha.’)
The 28-year-old Lee wed the pillow in in front of a local priest in a special ceremony earlier this week, after dressing his dakimakura in a wedding dress. Above, a day at the fair with the couple.
Now, you might laugh at this, but remember the Taylor Lautner pillow? See, now you understand.
I’m yet to see something that will break this record. WOW. Really? No hookers in japan or something?
