Brandon McInerney, the 15-year-old who killed Lawrence King because he was “effeminate,” was offered a plea deal by prosecutors:
Ventura County district attorney Maeve Fox told the Star that under the deal the boy’s maximum sentence will be 25 years to life rather than 53 years to life. She says the deal was offered because of his young age, although McInerney is being tried as an adult.
McInerney is charged with shooting Larry King in an Oxnard classroom in February 2008 after King told him he liked him. [Advocate]
