Is Henry Louis Gates Jr.’s Choice Of Red Stripe Beer Pro- Or Anti-LGBT?

boycottjamaicaThe beers have been chosen for tonight’s beer blast at the White House with Obama, Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Officer Crowley.

And now I’m left wondering whether Gates’ choice of Jamaican beer Red Stripe means he’s pro-LGBT or anti-LGBT. Remember the “Boycott Jamaica” campaign? The one that dumped rumdumptons of Red Stripe beer into the streets of NYC to protest the treatment of LGBT people in Jamaica. But, as you might also remember, J-FLAG, Jamaica’s leading LGBT rights organization condemned the Red Stripe boycott and said it would make things worse.

So, does Gates’ choice of Red Stripe beer make him pro-LGBT or anti-LGBT?
