The estimates of the size of the crowd that gathered yesterday for the National Equality March and rally in are covering a pretty wide range. D.C. authorities don’t disclose crowd estimates at rallies, but there are the numbers I’ve come across.
The AP: ” . . . the crowd appeared to number in the tens of thousands . . . ”
Washington Post: “Tens of thousands of gay rights supporters marched from the White House to the Capitol Sunday . . . ”
The Advocate: ” . . . some 200,000 people gathered for the National Equality March . . . ”
NYT: “The organizers were rating the march a success, saying that at least 150,000 people had attended.”
Whatever the total number is, the March and rally was a remarkable experience.
Throughout today, I will posting a lot about the March, with videos and photos as I comb through and manage them.
