Thousands of homophobic tweets are coming faster than I can refresh the screen. Tweets using the homophobic hashtag #uknowhowiknowuregay is now the number one trending topic on Twitter.
From what I can tell, no one is sure who started it, but, boy, are they sure having fun! And the more homophobic, the better!
This is unbelievable. Above is a sample of the “funny” hatred being thrown our way. (This made me think of the gay-run STFU Gays. What that site does is indistinguishable from this hashtag.)

Don’t get me wrong — I’m all for poking at self-obsessed behavior. But I gotta say that I really was disturbed that the #1 Twitter topic was one where tens of thousands of people made fun of gay people under the guise of humor.
