After disappearing for a week or so, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford admitted to having an affair with a “dear, dear” friend from Argentina. His wife and four sons have known for a few months.
Sanford defended South Carolina’s version of DOMA and called for then-President Bill Clinton to resign following the Lewinsky affair because Clinton’s behavior undermined faith in the government. Sanford has not said whether he will resign.
I’m just kind of bummed that the affair wasn’t with a man . . . .
