Hey guys, it looks like there is a problem with AKA William in the Explorer browser. Links aren’t working and clicking around causes Explorer to freeze or shut down. I just learned this was going on, so I am looking into it right now. Not sure what the problem is since the everything seems to be working fine in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.
About half of AKA William’s readers use Explorer so I am going to get this fixed, as in now.
I’ll be back in just a bit!
UPDATE: Okay, the problem is both bigger and smaller than I expected. And it’s gonna take some time to fix. Working on it now.
UPDATE 2: It’s Wednesday, January 6, and I decided that rather since I had some other changes planned, that I should address those at the same time as I’m fixing the Explorer issue. I’ll be tapping away here, and we’ll be good to go tomorrow! And let me just say that it’s gonna look real cute around here . . . .
I *hate* Explorer!! As a designer, it’s just insane to have to create special code for *one single browser*! Everyone else uses the same standards, but for some bizarre reason Microsoft goes off on their own. It drives me up the wall. If I was better at coding it may not be as big of an issue, but I’m more of a designer than a programmer, so it makes me go crazy.
@ Spike,
I deeply loathe Explorer, too. I haven’t used it in years. I’m not sure when this issue started, but it has to have been fairly recently. And since IE is so big I have to get it addressed ASAP. Ugh. Wish me luck!
I agree. I do web design at the University of Texas and I always spend extra days debugging some Explorer issue. I sympathize with you William.
Good luck!
