Dustin Lance Black released a statement regarding the three-year-old explicit photos that showed him engaging in unsafe sex:

“It is unfortunate that individuals and other outside parties are trying to profit from material which is clearly private. I have had the privilege to speak to people across the country, both gay and straight, on a number of critical issues including safe sex. More important than the embarrassment of this incident is the misleading message these images send. I apologize and cannot emphasize enough the importance of responsible sexual practices.” [E!]
This is a great statement. It calls websites out on mercenary practices and focuses the attention on what really matters.
I debated whether I should post about this again, but I thought it was important to get Black’s own words out. Unless Black releases another statement, I won’t be posting about this “story” again.
