Dozens of people turned out in the pouring rain at Atlanta’s City Hall to protest the Stonewall-style raid of the Atlanta Eagle on September 10. Among the speakers was Dani Lee Harris, the APD LGBT liaison, who was not notified of the raid until after it occurred:

With a makeshift cover of a large tarp for speakers to stand under as the rain poured down for nearly an hour, citizens demanded answers from the police department, elected officials as well as Mayor Shirley Franklin, who has remained silent on the issue . . .
[Harris said,] “I’m glad to be here representing the Atlanta Police Department … I can’t talk about the investigation because it is ongoing but I do want to say I am concerned,” she said. “The truth always does prevail and I ask you to please allow time for the investigation . . . The chief has been my biggest ally,” she added. “He raised those questions why I wasn’t involved. There are a lot of good officers in the department.”
The turnout wasn’t nearly as large as organizers had expected. Todd Vierling, one of the organizers of the protest explains that the protest wasn’t as large as everyone had hoped.

Todd Vierling’s explanations for why is wasn’t a success are BS because he didn’t even show up! That link should be removed as his comments take focus away from the problem at hand.
Great job to the organizers and speakers who managed to get 100+ people out in the pouring rain.
