Last night was the Eve of Justice. Across the country, people marched and held vigils in support of our civil rights.
In San Diego, Several hundred people – including Mayor Jerry Sanders – attended the rally in anticipation of arguments for and against Proposition 8 before the California Supreme Court on Thursday.
In Los Angeles More than 200 or so people attended Los Angeles’ vigil, and although some did not expect their demonstration to influence the justices who will decide whether Proposition 8 is valid. But they did want to send a public message, “to put a face on the issue,” as Kate Kuykendall put it.
In San Francisco thousands of supporters of same-sex marriage marched from the Castro district to the state Supreme Court on the eve of a hearing to decide the fate of Proposition 8.
These are just some of the vigils that took place on the Eve of Justice.
And today, today is the Day of Justice. I’ll be posting throughout the day on what happens. Remember, you can try to watch the Court proceedings online here if you don’t have the California channel.
