Last week State Senator Mark Leno introduced a bill that would legalize out-of-state same-sex marriages performed in California during the window of time between the legalization of same-sex marriage by the California Supreme Court and de-legalization of same-sex marriage by the passage of Prop 8.
Last week that bill has cleared its first hurdle:

[The bill] sailed through a policy committee Thursday, increasing the likelihood that the latest post-Proposition 8 dilemma will be thrown into the lap of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The Assembly Judiciary Committee approved Senate Bill 54 by Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, with seven Democrats supporting the measure and three Republicans voting against it.
With Democrats holding hefty majorities in both legislative houses, SB 54 appears headed to the governor’s desk. Schwarzenegger has vetoed two bills authorizing gay marriage. But he publicly opposed Prop 8 and later expressed hope that the state Supreme Court would overturn the initiative. The governor has taken a neutral stance on a federal challenge to the initiative.
