Brad Pitt appeared on Bill Maher on Friday, and he spoke simply and well about the damage that so many on the right are doing to civil rights by opposing equal rights for LGBT people:
Like gay marriage, you have a group of people who are telling people how live their lives, and you can’t do that . . .You really have to check what country you’re living in. The freedom that allows you to practice your religion is the same freedom that you’re stopping on. It’s not right . . . And I want to add that if there were a nation of gay married couples who were telling you you couldn’t practice your religion I’d be speaking up for you Children are going to be fine.
