Today, the good gays are marching in Albany to fight for our equal rights, and for every action there’s a . . . yeah, the crazies are holding their own marriage protest today in Washington D.C. Via Pink News:

An anti-gay marriage rally to be held today in front of Washington DC’s Council offices will “launch the Armageddon of the marriage battle in this country”, its organizer has claimed.
Bishop Harry Jackson of Hope Christian Church in Bowie has said he expects over 1,000 church members to show up at the protest to argue that gay marriage is an affront to citizens and especially those of African-American origin.
Speaking to the Washington Post, he said: “There’s a sense that the latte-drinking crowd is doing an end run around the regular people.
“It’s a race and a class struggle on this If 51 per cent of the people in DC are African-American and you have a unanimous vote by the city council on this, somebody’s not listening to the people.”
Jackson went on to say to the Washington Post that “the divide [between those who believe same-sex marriage is a civil right and those who don't] has to do with the intensity of one’s faith commitment. Those who are less informed scripturally are floating down the same direction as many in the culture.”
UPDATE: Former mayor, crackhead, husband, and tax-payer Marion joined in to lead chants about the “immorality” of gay marriage, but noted that he support civil unions. I say, just be a bigot and be done with it.

i just threw up in my mouth a little.
waiting for someone to point out that those “church people” are also the ones who never went to college or saw anyone aside from the people on their block and their families. they never learned anything about life aside from what their preachers taught them. this shit is so sad to me…
ugh.

Honestly, it’s not Christianity, it’s a cult. And it made me a bit queasy, too. I kept thinking of that creepy Poltergeist preacher.
