This weekend Wimbledon unveiled its new and desperately-needed new roof. Every year, all kinds of matched get rained out. But not this year. Or any more, actually.
To christen the tournament’s entry into the modern world, Andre Agassi paired up with his wife Steffi Graf to play doubles and singles against fellow-retiree Tim Henman and former-retiree Kim Clijsters underneath the new roof. Even more appropriate was that it started to rain before the exhibition matches, which meant the roof had to be closed.
Andre and Steffi lost the doubles set 7-6, while Andre won the singles 6-4, and Clijsters beat Graf 6-4. As well.
